OnHand ranks #22 in Deloitte Tech Fast 50 and secures North East regional win

OnHand has secured a position on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 UK list. Placing at number 22, this achievement highlights our business success and growth alongside previous winners including Deliveroo, Just Eat and Revolut. OnHand is also named the regional winner for the North East.

The emerging trend towards responsible business continues to grow in significance. We’ve seen this through the rise of wellbeing at work, the B Corp movement, public dissemination of impact reports, boards and shareholders demanding greater transparency, and consumer and employee expectations of how their chosen brands and employers will behave.

OnHand sits at the centre of the 3 core converging trends: employee engagement; responsible business; and social & environmental needs. The desire for companies, customers and employees to deliver social impact and sustainability action that’s aligned to their corporate social  responsibility has never been stronger.

OnHand solves this need, bringing these 3 trends together under one platform. With OnHand, social impact and  sustainability action is kept close to the employees’ location or is done remotely. Opportunities are ‘micro’, meaning they fit into any schedule. Crucially, doing good with us is on-demand, so employees can instantly find opportunities to volunteer.

Over the 2023 financial year,  employees using OnHand completed 1.2 million actions helping people and planet. Our OnHanders spent 110 total days helping their local communities, spent 45,840 minutes on befriending calls, and logged 680 in-person companionship sessions.

Not only this, but through local charity shop donations, our OnHanders donated 100,000 items to charity. For local food banks, OnHand volunteers donated £7000 worth of donations, which helped over 400 families in their communities.

As for sustainability impact, our volunteers completed 18,874 environmental pledges to reduce their CO2e – in total, they reduced 696 metric tonnes of CO2e through lifestyle changes and commitments. They removed 150,000 items of litter from beaches, rivers, and streets, which is the equivalent to 411 items of litter a day. And, to top it all off, OnHanders facilitated the planting of half a million trees in 2023 through completed missions and pledges.

OnHand’s vision is to become the world’s leading impact platform, delivering over 1 billion impact actions across the globe. With new wins in 2024 including global brands such as Penguin Random House, Rightmove and Skyscanner, and with the average active user completing over 21 actions each month and an 83% repeat rate, the business is well on its way to achieving its goal.

We’ve come a long way since establishing OnHand in 2019, with the help of charities like the British Red Cross, the RSPCA, and Macmillan Cancer Support. What originally began as a means to provide support for older and isolated people in our local communities–through shop drops, prescription pick-ups, and companionship sessions–grew into the OnHand we are today.

It’s fantastic to be awarded our Deloitte accolade, and we know there’s so much more in store in the future. It means a lot to be acknowledged for our growth and perseverance. We’re committed to bettering the CSR, ESG, and Social Value spaces, and our position on the list affirms that.

We debuted in G2's CRS Technology reports some 18 months ago. In December 2023, for the first time, we beat out all CSR tech competitors in Performance, Leadership and Customer Satisfaction in G2's Winter 2024 report. Since the Winter report, we have maintained our leadership position in G2’s Spring and Summer 2024. We also became a certified  B Corp at the beginning of 2024, and continue to uphold our position as a trusted CSR platform bringing good to the world.
